Looking for great, creative, holiday craft fairs.

I'm looking for awesome craft fairs that feature creative local artists. I can't remember where I went, but I went to one in Mt. Vernon a few years ago, but can't remember when. Help?

Holly Fest at Friends School of Baltimore is one of the best craft fairs of the season!!! Ît features wonderful local craft artists (as well as kids crafts, gourmet to go, holiday greens and an incredible silent auction). The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 20th (10:00 am - 4:00 pm). You can get more details from the Friends School web site — www.friendsbalt.org

I highly recommend the 4th annual Holiday Christmas Market on Saturday, December 4th, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Oakland, Maryland. It's out in Garrett County near Deep Creek Lake and it's a great time to visit the area and enjoy the warm hospitable mountains of Western Maryland. The fair is a part of their “Small Town Christmas” celebration which includes shopping for handmade gifts, live music, bake sale and a Christmas Cafe.

If you want to find a great deal on homemade gifts and enjoy a simple weekend get-away while getting into the holiday spirit--this is where it's at!

Full disclosure as a MICA staff member: you won't want to miss this! "Maryland Institute College of Art's *Art Market* Wednesday, Dec. 8-Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in Brown Center's Leidy Atrium, 1301 W Mount Royal Ave. You'll find illustrations, paintings, prints, posters, sculptures, mosaics, stationery, T-shirts, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, book arts, toys, and more designed and created by more than 250 MICA students, faculty, alumni and staff, leading artists in their fields.

You can also chat with the artists about their work while enjoying the market's lively atmosphere and supporting the local economy.
It also fosters student professional development and peer-to-peer networking, and provides funding for need-based student scholarships.

Vendors will accept the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, cash, MICARD and check. Admission to the market is free." --from MICA's website (http://bit.ly/3H1V5b) ENJOY!
