How can an individual get involved with live theater in Baltimore?

Especially if they don't have much acting experience!

There are several local theaters in Baltimore...Single Carrot Theatre on North Ave., Spotlighters Theatre on St Paul St., Vagabond in Fells Point on Broadway...just to name a few. You can visit or call them and ask about classes and/or auditions. They usually offer both on a regular basis or if not someone there can tell you when they offer classes and when they will hold auditions. In addition you can get on the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance emailing list. I have been on their list for a few years and although it has changed a bit I still get a lot of information about what's going on around the city in the "Art World". Good luck and have fun!

There is an open group on Facebook called Auditions! that is an excellent resource for people in the Maryland and DC area.

Also if you see a performance you like just stick around and talk to people! A lot of local companies are always looking for volunteers, so get involved with groups that are doing things that you like!
