If you are willing to venture outside of the city for a breath of FRESH air...go up to the DnR Trail along the Gunpowder. Start at Monkton Station and bike up to Beech Tree. It's a beautiful scenery; calm, pleasant and refreshing. You bike directly along the Gunpowder river and see lots of wild & plantlife as you're going.

Monkton Station is on Monkton Rd, Monkton MD...either take 83 North to Exit 27 Carmel Rd, take a right at the end of the exit, go to first light and make a right onto York Road, make next left on Monkton Rd and stay straight until you hit the train tracks-Monkton Station is on your left. Park your car & leave it until you are done!

I love biking through Druid Hill park—I'm not really much of a runner—but there are a lot of people that appear to like running there as well.
